Devon Martinez is an interdisciplinary artist in Portland, OR who experiments with a wide range of materials in the service of chaotic and symbolic imagery. She employs digital techniques alongside physical processes like sculpture, printmaking, and collage to merge contemporary and traditional elements. She collects and assembles things in order to create multilayered compositions that take the form of 2D, 3D, and functional objects. Devon’s art covers themes relating to the domestic, femininity, memory, her dreams, and nature. By ripping organic and human-made forms from mundane settings and inserting them into dreamlike scenes, she reflects on both our inner and collective worlds. She has exhibited in The Pointed Circle Magazine, PNCA’s Merit Scholars Exhibition, and the 2021 Apostrophe Exhibition in Spokane, WA. She also enjoys participating in print exchanges.
